High flying Liverpool travelled to Paris last week for the first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League. The game started with PSG on top, creating many chances, a having a goal disallowed. Arne Slot's Liverpool were, surprisingly, put under a lot of pressure. Alisson had to come to the rescue many times throughout the game, making a selection of impressive stops and kept a very important clean sheet as his side won the game at the death 1-0. The Brazilian’s performance was described as one of the best in the Champions League’s history.
Hermansen denies Palmer from the spot
This weekend, Leicester City travelled to Stamford Bridge in their 28th game of the Premier League season. Both teams came into this game in poor form and in much need of all three points. Champions League chasing Chelsea were the closest to scoring in the first half as they won a penalty in the 22nd minute.
Up stepped Cole Palmer. About to take his 13th penalty in the Premier League and looking to maintain his 100% record from, the spot only outcome was going to be a goal, right? Palmer unleashed his wrath on the ball, but Hermansen correctly dived to the left and tipped the penalty around the post!
Liam Roberts ban extended after horror challenge
Liam Roberts was recently sent off in the FA Cup for Millwall when he raised his studs high leading to an injury to Mateta. He was handed a ban for the red card, but it has been recently extended to six games due to the severity of the challenge. Mateta has been assessed and is expected to be back from his head injury on the 2nd April.
Goalkeeper drama in Sidemen Charity Match
Ending on a different note this week as the Sidemen Charity Match at Wembley, this weekend, saw both goalkeepers concede nine goals each! However, all the spotlight was on Sketch, a popular streamer from the US, who donned the gloves and made some brilliant saves, denying Miniminter in the penalty shootout and winning player of the match. Despite standing at 5’6, Sketch shocked the world with his goalkeeping abilities and causing a major upset as the YouTube All-Stars won the Charity Match for only the second time!
