Which number one jerseys have caught the eye this season?

The creative license when fashioning goalkeeper kits each season tends to be much broader than for outfield players.

In recent years, brands across the world have come out with some weird, wacky, brilliant, and outright terrible attempts at rejuvenating the traditional green long sleeves.

We explore who's hit the nail on the head for 2024/25.

Bristol City

Max O'Leary models our kick-off kit with this swirling circular pattern design from O'Neills. Fun, fresh, edgy, and a bit Bristolian.

Manchester City

Further up the footballing pyramid, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have hit the sweet spot with this design from Puma. Though templated, the light cream colour compliments Ederson's boot/glove combination brilliantly.

AC Milan

AC Milan and Manchester City share the Puma kit pattern, but how good does this look in the grey/black colour scheme?

Swansea City:

The Welsh club have hit the jackpot with this subtle pattern variation on the standard yellow goalkeeper jersey. You won't be able to miss Lawrence Vigouroux when he's wearing this.

Manchester United:

Manchester United's nostalgic line of third kits are so simple yet so classy. The rules don't bend for the goalkeeper shirt. This stylish black jersey encapsulates the golden era of Adidas.

MK Dons:

In League Two, MK Dons have cured the relegation blues with this sharp electric blue goalkeeper kit. Not bad, Castore. Not bad at all.

Rangers:

In Scotland, Jack Butland is the custodian of one of title contenders for goalkeeper kit of the 2024/25 season. This pink pattern jersey sees another tick in Castore's style award book. The lighter and darker pink contrasts are really effective. Top marks.

And an honourary mention to Partick Thistle with this blinder:
