Vítězslav Jaroš’ loan to Ajax sees sees him link up with former Reds coach John Heitinga.

After making his way from being Arne Slot’s assistant at Liverpool to becoming manager of Eredivisie side Ajax, John Heitinga is building up his goalkeeper department by reuniting with Liverpool goalkeeper Vítězslav Jaroš for the 2025/26 season.
Czech goalkeeper Jaros, who made his senior breakthrough with the Reds last season, is positioned to join Ajax on a season-long loan. His career at Liverpool started back in August 2017 and he was on the U18 team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019. Jaros made his senior debut with Liverpool last October when he replaced Alisson Becker at Crystal Palace for the closing stages of a 1-0 Premier League victory.
“It was very good to see, with Kelleher being sick yesterday, our third goalkeeper got this performance in,” Arne Slot said of Vítězslav Jaroš following the match.
In his first Liverpool start later in the same month, the team ended up winning 3-2 against Brighton.
Jaros is no stranger to loan life, having been loaned out four times before. In these moves, he won both the Irish Cup with St Patrick's Athletic and the league and cup double in Austria with Sturm Graz.
“[It is] always nice for a team that everyone is involved in the results. [He handled it] really well. He had a very good season last season, he won the league and cup where he was [on loan at Sturm Graz] in Austria,” Slot said.
This new top-tier, year-long move to Ajax will be hugely beneficial and a perfect new challenge for the Czech Republic international to return to Liverpool a bigger and better player.
Though as Jaros is approaching the tail end of his contract with Liverpool, he is expected to sign a new and long-term deal with them before heading off to Johan Cruyff Arena.
