Iñaki Peña has been with FC Barcelona since 2012, when he was only 13. He then made his senior debut in October 2018 at the ripe age of 19. After just a short loan to Galatasaray in January 2022 to end the season, the Spanish goalkeeper was back with Barça and has been with the Catalan side through and through since then.

In 2023, inheriting the number 13 shirt from Neto who had left for Bournemouth, Peña stepped up to the first team, signing a contract and a contract extension, making Barça his home until 2026.

Guaranteed a starter in the eleven until January, Peña played understudy to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and enjoyed a pretty decent first half of the season. Now, the 26-year old is struggling for game time as a third choice behind Ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny, who swooped into Barça as an emergency captain replacement in 2024.

With his contract expiring in 2026, and no signs of any renewal, it doesn't look like it's in Peña's best interests to stay at Barça without any assurance of game time behind both Ter Stegen and Szczesny.

So his ears are reportedly open.

Celta Vigo have reportedly expressed interest in the goalkeeper, but Peña is also said to be open to offers from beyond his home country of Spain as well. His next move could be pivotal in his career, and as Barcelona bask in celebration of a great season, this may as well double as a farewell party for Iñaki Peña and his career at Barça that has lasted half his lifetime.
